Preheat oven (electric 190°C / convection 170°C). Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut into 1 cm large pieces. Toss the apples in the sugar and cinnamon, place in a casserole dish and gently press them together.
Mix together the flour, sugar and salt. Add the butter (cut into pieces) and using your fingers, rub the ingredients together until the mixture looks like crumbs. Distribute the crumble evenly on top of the apples and using a fork press down gently.
Mix together the rolled oats, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the crumble topping. Bake the crumble for ca. 35-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the apples are soft. Remove the crumble from the oven, cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
Serve this tasty fall dessert with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream.
