- 125 g Küchenmeister Wheat Flour T405
- 90 g Küchenmeister Whole-Wheat Flour
- 150 g Sweet Nature Brown Cane Sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. cinnamon
- 225 g apple sauce
- 115 g almond milk
- 120 g olive oil or coconut oil
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup
- 3 tbsp. maple syrup
- 65 g powdered sugar
Preheat oven (electric 200 ° C/convection 180 °C). Grease two donut forms (12 donuts).
In large bowl, combine together the flours and baking powder. Add the sugar, cinnamon and salt. In a second bowl; mix together the apple sauce, almond milk, oil and maple syrup. Add the dry ingredients to the applesauce mixture. Mix until just combined (over mixing will lead to tough donuts). Using a spoon, fill the donut forms, making sure the forms are only ¾ of the way full.
Place the donut forms in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool briefly, before removing donuts from the forms. Cool completely on a wire rack.
For the glaze: Sieve the powdered sugar and mix with the maple syrup. Spread the glaze onto the cooled donuts, sprinkle with pearl sugar and allow to dry.
