- 100 g butter
- 250 g Küchenmeister Corn Flour
- 1 egg
- 175 g grated gruyere cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 egg yolk for brushing
Combine all ingredients and work into shortbread dough. Wrap in cling film and leave to chill for one hour.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough. Using a cookie cutter cut of cookies. Alternatively you can roll the dough into cheese-straws. Place cookies on a greased baking sheet, or on one that is lined with parchment paper.
Brush cookies with the egg yolk and if desired sprinkle with caraway seeds. Bake in preheated oven at 200 °C (convection) for 10 minutes.
