- 500 g apples, peeled and sliced
- 250 g Küchenmeister Whole-Grain Spelt Flour
- 125 g Sweet Nature Brown Cane Sugar
- 125 g butter
- 3 eggs
- Pinch of salt
- 1 pot of whipping cream
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon-sugar
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
Create a short crust pastry from the whole-grain spelt flour, sugar, butter (cut into pieces), 2 eggs and salt. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for ca. 30 minutes. Press the dough into a greased/lined pie/quiche/spring form (ø 28 cm), and create a crust that is 2cm high.
Preheat the oven (conventional 180°C / fan 160°C).
Fan the apple slices onto the base. Whip the cold cream with a hand mixer until it begins to thicken, then add the cinnamon-sugar, nutmeg, and beat in the remaining egg. Pour the mixture evenly onto the apples.
Bake the flan for ca. 45 minutes. The flan can be eaten warm, but the cream will still be somewhat runny.
Tip: This recipe is also super delicious when baked with plums!
