- 500 g Küchenmeister wheat flour T405
- 300 ml milk
- 50-100 g butter
- 1/2 cube fresh yeast
- 10-50 g sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- Egg yolk for brushing
Warm the milk and butter together until the butter has melted. In a bowl combine together the flour and salt. Crumble the yeast into the bowl, sprinkle it with sugar and pour the warm milk-butter on top, however do not mix! Leave the yeast to proof for ca. 10 minutes, or until it appears frothy. Now mix all the ingredients together, and knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms. Cover the dough and leave it in a warm place for ca. 15 minutes. Now prepare the braid into a braid, sheet cake, rollsor as desired, and place it on a greased or lined baking sheet. Leave the dough to rise in a warm place for ca. 30 minutes.
Depending on your chosen recipe, add toppings and brush with the whisked egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven for ca. 15-20 minutes.
