Peel and dice the onions. Wash, quarter and remove the stems and seeds from the tomatoes. Dice the tomatoes.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and sear the onions. Add the tomato paste and briefly sauté, before adding the diced tomatoes and pizza seasoning. Bring the contents of the pan to a boil, before lowering the temperature, covering the pan and simmering for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Stir in the green spelt groats and boil the sauce for 15 minutes. Stir the sauce occasionally until it reaches a spreadable consistency. Season with salt and pepper and use on your favourite pizza!
