Ingredients and preparation

Ingredients for the dough (for 1 baking sheet):
400 g Küchenmeister spelt flour type 630
3 eggs
200 g sugar
1 pck. vanilla sugar
1 pck. baking powder
400 ml Buttermilch
Ingredients for the topping:
75 g Frießinger brown cane sugar
4 medium-sized apples
120 g almonds
200 ml cream (optional)
150 g butter (optional)

Preparation for the dough: Beat the 3 eggs until foamy. Add 200 g sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar. Mix the flour with the packet of baking powder and fold into the egg mixture with 400 ml buttermilk.

Pour the dough onto a rectangular baking tray lined with baking paper and smooth it out.

Preheat the oven to 200° C.

Preparation for the topping: Wash, peel, core and dice the 4 apples. Chop or slice 120 g almonds. Spread the apple cubes on the dough, sprinkle with the chopped or sliced almonds and with the 75 g brown cane sugar.

Bake the cake for about 20 minutes.

Even tastier: boil 200 ml of cream with 150 g of butter and spread it on the finished cake immediately after baking.
