Ingredients and preparation

Ingredients (for a ⌀ 26 cm springform pan):
100 g Mühlen König wheat flour type 405100 g Küchenmeister spelt flour type 630125 g Frießinger brown cane sugar
130 g soft butter or margarine
1 pck. vanilla sugar (optional bourbon)
3 eggs
1/2 pck. baking powder
3 tablespoons milk
2 apples
Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Preheat the oven to 180° C top/bottom heat.

Preparation: Line a springform pan with baking paper.

Cream 130 g butter or margarine with 125 g brown cane sugar and 1 packet vanilla sugar. Gradually add the 3 eggs and continue mixing.

Sift both types of flour into a bowl with half the packet of baking powder. Alternately add the flour mixture and the 3 tablespoons of milk to the butter-egg mixture and mix until smooth.

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the surface. Peel, quarter and core the 2 apples and cut the surface a few times.

Spread the apple pieces on the dough and bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with powdered sugar while still hot.

Our tip: If the surface of the cake becomes too dark after 20-25 minutes, simply cover with a piece of aluminum foil and continue baking.
